Here in America, living in The Projects means housing built as a government project to get poor people off the streets. Each unit comes with a voucher, for which a potential tenant must qualify. It’s a taxpayer-paid subsidy covering rent not paid by such low-income folks as myself.

In my scenario, this project was built for disabled seniors.

This is an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) building, but county management is woefully incapable of imagining life from the viewpoint of those on wheels.

Like erecting a dog-poop station behind a thick curb so pet-owners in wheelchairs cannot hope to fling their shit bags so far. Then they can’t figure out why they’re picking up bags scattered around the trashcan.

I moved here after being homeless for seven months. I was evicted after eleven years of faithful rent-paying and caretaking in my previous abode. Since my eviction was sudden and rushed, I easily left eighty percent of my stuff behind.

I’ve been happy to become a minimalist. It suits me and I don’t miss my stuff one bit. I have no sentimentality in my bloodstream at all.
